15:58 | Madrid (Spain), Feb. 28.

President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday reaffirmed his administration's commitment to continuing with Peruvian economy's sustainable growth, adding the important cooperation agreements signed with Spain — for the benefit of the population— are proof of that.

"We are closing all this effort by signing seven important accords and a joint declaration," the Head of State expressed at Moncloa Palace.

Within the framework of his State visit to Spain, the top official highlighted the Inca country's solid democracy and its sustainable economic growth, which enabled the reduction of poverty to less than 50%.

According to the President, this signals a brighter future comes ahead.

He went on to add it is important that the Government relies on a more comprehensive vision which includes development with social justice, the fight to end violence against women, and environment protection in order to improve citizens' lives.

Agreements

The Peruvian statesman and Spanish President Pedro Sanchez signed important bilateral cooperation agreements on the occasion.

In this sense, one of them is a technical accord to provide training and education on disaster risks management to Peru's Armed Forces staff.

Likewise, another document addresses cooperation on the combat against delinquency, organized crime, and offenses linked to terrorism.

Furthermore, both governments expressed the intention to ink a treaty on international cooperation for the benefit of young people from Peru and Spain.

On the other hand, President Vizcarra participated in InPERU's 16th Road Show Europe 2019 which started in London on February 25 and came to an end in Madrid today.

The Peruvian Head of State also attended the inauguration of ARCOmadrid 2019, an international contemporary art fair taking place on February 27-March 3.

It should be noted Peru is the guest of honor in this year's edition.
