A ceremony was held at the Peruvian Embassy in Germany to hand over cultural assets recovered by Peru's diplomatic missions in that European country.

These are 262 Peruvian cultural pieces belonging to the Nation's Cultural Heritage, which were handed over to the Peruvian Embassy and to the Consulates General based in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Munich.

The recovery reflects a vision of respect for culture and heritage.

Ambassador Denegri stated that "the recovery of cultural assets contributes to strengthening our ancestral and ancient cultural heritage."

In that regard, the diplomat urged the embassy and the consulates to continue this crucial work of recovering and raising awareness about the return of Peru's cultural heritage.

This effort enriches our understanding of history and helps strengthen the country's image on the international stage.

In turn, Peruvian Ambassador to Germany, Augusto Arzubiaga, stated that this work is carried out in close dialogue with the Federal Foreign Office, as well as with auction houses and private individuals.

The recovered pieces belong to various Pre-Hispanic styles and cultures, such as Moche, Chancay, Chimu, Nasca, Inca, Wari, Chavin, Chincha, Ica, Paracas, Viru, Huaura, Chuquibamba, Chiribaya, and Collagua.

Most of the items are textile objects (cloths, ribbons, bags, bands, and textile fragments) and sculptural ceramics (cups, pitchers, bottles, plates, jars, and bowls), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs detailed in a press release.
