The interrogation of OAS construction company ex-Chairman Leo Pinheiro is on standby, as the parts involved are waiting for the resolution of the collaboration agreement standardization with Brazilian authorities, Peru's Lava Jato Case Special Prosecution Group Prosecutor German Jaurez informed Thursday.

In this sense, the Prosecutor explained that —without the accord standardization— Pinheiro's attorneys have notified the Peruvian side that he will not give his statement.

Likewise, Juarez indicated the ex-CEO is willing to give his testimony to Peruvian authorities. However, it seems that his legal defense members have advised him not to.

"We must continue with the investigations, whether he gives his statement or not, whether this person is willing to collaborate or not," the Prosecutor added.

It should be noted Pinheiro's interrogation was suspended up to three times, due to problems with the collaboration agreement standardization process.

Within this framework, the former OAS highest-ranking officer was going to be questioned about the cases involving ex-Lima Mayors Susana Villaran (2011-2014) and Luis Castañeda (2003-2010; 2015-2018), ex-President Ollanta Humala (2011-2016), as well as the "Construction Club" —a group composed of companies that had paid bribes to gain projects in the Inca country.
