Within this framework, the Head of State announced there will be a greater allocation of resources for those regions next year.
Likewise, the statesman proposed holding periodic meetings with authorities of the
border areas to follow up and comply with the adopted agreements.
"Here we ratify our commitment, rest assured that (...) the regions, which had been neglected, will see a change in our relationship based on our willingness and our commitment to work (for them)," he expressed.
The Head of State said there will be greater closeness in order to work together and reverse a situation that —for 200 years— had left those areas behind, although they are of vital importance to the South American country.
The event was attended by President Vizcarra, Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos, Foreign Affairs Minister Gustavo Meza-Cuadra, nine regional governors, twelve provincial mayors, and 84 district mayors.
