Peru President meets with women's rights organizations

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Monday held a meeting with citizens belonging to organizations and groups that fight violence against women.

During the meeting, the Head of State welcomed their proposals to strengthen prevention and protection policies aimed at preventing gender-based violence.

On several occasions, the top official has stated that his administration is engaged in the fight to eradicate that scourge, which affects female citizens.

In a message released at the end of 2019, the statesman said that "we are all in favor of a tolerant society without machismo, but our effort will be insufficient if we fail to involve all authorities and citizens."

That time, the message was joined by a video that identifies warning signs to be taken into account in order to prevent violence against women.
