The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, met on Wednesday with Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Espa to coordinate the Executive Branch's actions ahead of the arrival of Pope Leo XIV in November.
At the conclusion of this meeting, Minister Espa said Pope Leo XIV's upcoming visit "fills us with great joy, and we believe it represents the Peruvian people's commitment to reconciliation."
He also provided details about the papal visit to Peru, announcing that a Grand Thanksgiving Mass will be held at Las Palmas Air Base, in Lima, where a large turnout of worshippers is expected.
During the trip, the Supreme Pontiff will visit Montevideo, Paysandu, and Florida from November 6 to 8; Buenos Aires, Cordoba, and Lujan from November 8 to 11; and Lima, Chiclayo, Cusco, and Pucallpa from November 11 to 17.
The extensive Latin American tour, from November 6 to 17, covering 12 days and 10 cities, will surpass the previous record set by the Pope's trip to Africa last April.
