The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday participated in the recognition and awarding ceremony to honor Para-athlete Angelica Espinoza —Peru's taekwondo gold medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The ceremony was held at the Government Palace in Lima. It also saw the presence of Education Minister Juan Cadillo.
Thus, she claimed the ninth medal for Peru in the history of the Paralympics.
Espinoza —who is a three-time Pan American champion and gold medalist at Lima 2019— had expressed confidence in winning a medal for her country at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
