Peru: President Jeri convenes Armed Forces, Police to assess measures against crime

In his first government action, the President of the Republic, Jose Jeri Ore, called a joint meeting with the top commanders of the Armed Forces and the Peruvian National Police to plan coordinated and effective measures aimed at tackling crime.

The meeting takes place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima, the Presidential Office reported on X. 


During his inaugural speech, Jeri Ore emphasized that citizen insecurity is the country's main challenge.

Likewise, he called for immediate action on this matter.


"I call for calm and tranquility. We must work precisely to combat crime, which is the number one priority at this moment and reflects the public sentiment," he expressed when approached by reporters this morning before entering his home.
