Congressman Fernando Rospigliosi assumed the Chairmanship of the Congress of the Republic, in accordance with the regulations of this branch of the State.

In accordance with Congress' Regulations, the First Vice Chair assumes the Legislative Branch's leadership when the chairmanship becomes vacant.

Within this framework, Rospigliosi —who was elected as First Vice Chair— assumed the helm of Parliament after Jose Jeri Ore, who had until then led Congress' Board, moved on to assume the Presidency of the Republic.

Rospigliosi is a Congressman from Fuerza Popular (Popular Force Party). He served as head of Congress' Constitution Commission during the previous legislative term.

Presidential vacancy

The parliamentary resolution that formalized the vacancy was signed by Jose Jeri Ore, then-Chair of Congress and current Head of State, as well as by Fernando Rospigliosi in his capacity as First Vice Chair, who now assumes the Legislative Branch's leadership.
