President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday announced the Executive Branch will create a commission to overhaul the Judicial Power, which will be composed of highly-qualified professionals.
According to the Head of State, this commission will have to work on a reform bill, which he will personally submit to Congress on July 28.
On that day, the President will deliver his address to the nation on the occasion of activities commemorating Independence Day.
"There is no time to lose. We are acting quickly and seriously in order to generate the changes that Peru demands," the statesman pointed out.
Vizcarra went on to say his administration will implement the corresponding measures to shape "an effective, timely, transparent, efficient, and
incorruptible" judicial system.
"In this sense, I call on all Peruvians to join this struggle (…) This is the time to change Peru," he expressed.
Thus, the top official reaffirmed his commitment to
fighting corruption and reiterated his administration will do what is best for the Inca country "at any cost, whoever may fall, and wherever they may be."
“I have faith that together we will change the country,” he concluded.
