The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Friday announced that —during the extension of the covid-19 state of emergency— activities in the service and trade sectors will be expanded, in order to ease the Peruvian people's everyday life.
The Head of State noted that the sale of clothing, footwear, and appliances is being added to the previously approved
e-commerce service, in addition to the sale of school and office supplies for work and educational purposes.
"For the transfer of goods, the sanitary norms established by the Ministry of Health must be complied with," he stressed.
The top official clarified that the opening of stores is not allowed. "A bookstore or a clothing store may lead to a large crowd of people. Thus, they will work, but under the delivery mechanism," he stated.
Medical services
The President affirmed that during state of emergency extension, medical services —
outside the treatment for covid-19— are allowed. They include dental services, rehabilitation, and veterinary, among others.
"The services are allowed starting this Monday, but they have to respect the sanitary measures to prevent a rebound in the number of infections," he underlined.
Technical services
Additionally, technical computer services, plumbing, electricity, laundry, carpentry, artifact maintenance, equipment repair, as well as hairdressing and cosmetology services will be allowed.
Likewise, professional sports activities that do not involve direct physical contact will be allowed, he said.
