The
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday participated in the recognition ceremony to honor 148 beneficiaries of the Juntos (Together) program, who got a scholarship for higher education, through which they will achieve the goal of pursuing technical and higher education.
In her speech, the Head of State welcomed the efforts made by the young beneficiaries, 24 of whom are from native communities in the Amazon and indigenous peoples, while five of them reside in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM).
"I sincerely hope that you will move forward. Your path shines out with its own light, follow that light and do not turn it off, complete your career training, become professionals and continue carrying the torch of improvement, get a master's degree, a PhD, and learn languages, which open doors all over the world," she said.
Likewise, the dignitary called on the young scholarship holders to move forward under ethical, moral, and fair principles, as well as to banish corruption, which causes so much damage to the country.
At the same time, she called on the business sector to support youth, who represent the present and future of the country.
According to the country's top official, young people's education and determination will contribute to promoting the development of their homes and to changing the history of their families.
Of this number, 1,820 students proceeded to the selection stage and 965 completed their application. Finally, 148 students were accepted as scholarship holders on March 20.
The recipients are from the regionsof Amazonas, Ancash, Apurimac, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Callao, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huanuco, Junin, La Libertad, Lima, Loreto, Pasco, Piura, Puno, San Martín, Tumbes and Ucayali.
