Peru President: 12,000 police to join fight against crime in 2019

President Martin Vizcarra on Friday affirmed 12,000 police will join the fight against citizen insecurity in Peru in 2019.


Likewise, the Head of State noted the process to incorporate 900 police cars will be completed in July. 

Furthermore, the top official indicated the human resource must be supported by an adequate technical implementation.

In this sense, he highlighted the incorporation of patrol cars and motorcycles, as well as the completion of the new and modern National Police Hospital, which will offer health services relying on cutting-edge technology.

Moreover, the statesman underlined his administration's commitment to fighting crime, adding the traced strategic plans have begun to yield positive results. 

Within this framework, President Vizcarra considered it is necessary that all the Inca country's sectors work together on this effort. 


Remarks were made during the ceremony to recognize the police academy graduates, who have officially become part of the institution.

On the occasion, the Head of State was joined by Peru's Interior Minister Carlos Moran and National Police Commander-General Jose Luis Lavalle.
