In a joint operation against drug trafficking, the Peruvian National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces destroyed a mega laboratory for processing coca paste (PBC), nine narcotics storage structures, and three hideouts containing engines and tools.
The facilities were located in the native community of Peruate, Ramon Castilla district, Loreto region.
The intervention caused an estimated US$194,435 in economic losses to drug trafficking, directly dealing a blow to the logistics and activities of criminal organizations operating in the area.
At the site, 2,496 kilograms of cocaine sulfate, more than 20 tons of chemical supplies, and eight vessels were neutralized.
A shotgun, ammunition, cellphones, and radio equipment were also seized.
The operation, dubbed "Amazonia 2026," involved the deployment of more than 30 law enforcement agents, who were transported aboard two helicopters.
During the operation, 18-year-old Robinson Paredes Murayari was arrested.
