The meeting in New York between
confirms the excellent state of bilateral relations.
It also reaffirms both Governments' commitment to continuing to deepen political dialogue, cooperation, and economic ties, the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
On security matters, the ministers discussed the fight against transnational organized crime and agreed on the need to strengthen a coordinated response to a threat affecting public safety and democratic governance in their countries and the region.
In this regard, the high-ranking officials expressed their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, collaboration among the competent authorities of both countries, and coordination at the multilateral level.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of High-Level Week of the 81st United Nations General Assembly session.
Ministers Espa and Tovar welcomed support for their respective accession processes to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as for the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Pacific Alliance.
