Pope Leo XIV's visit
On another matter, President Fujimori announced that she will welcome Pope Leo XIV at Air Group No. 8 when he arrives in Peru on Wednesday, November 11.
The Head of State will later hold a meeting with the Supreme Pontiff at the Government Palace in Lima.
Moreover, the top official confirmed that she will attend the Mass to be celebrated by the Pope at Las Palmas Air Base in Lima's Surco district on November 16.
The President announced that she will not be present during His Holiness' visit to the Lambayeque region from Friday, November 13, to Saturday, November 14.
"Throughout the visit, the official in charge is the Foreign Affairs Minister," Fujimori clarified.
"So, we are very happy, but above all, it is a gift and a blessing that His Holiness Pope Leo XIV is giving to all Peruvians. We will welcome him with open arms, with great joy, and above all, renewing our faith in God," she concluded.
