The diplomat conveyed greetings to the Cabinet chief and stressed that her country's cooperation with Peru is solid and develops largely within the country through projects linked to the Government's priorities in the areas of economic development, environment, governance, health, social inclusion, security, and disaster prevention.
Within this framework, a presentation was made on the support provided by the technical mission of the
U.S. National Response Team (NRT) in cleaning up the oil spill in Lima's Ventanilla sea area, which took place for a period of four weeks.
Prime Minister Torres thanked the envoy over the work carried out and expressed that U.S. support contributes significantly to the efforts undertaken by the Peruvian State.
The government official also stated that it is Peru's political will to
become an OECD member —based on our country's commitment to an open economy, the rule of law, as well as to the fight against climate change and corruption.
Moreover, he thanked the United States for its support in this process.
Lastly, concerning investments, the Prime Minister reiterated that Peru has the broadest will to guarantee respect for legality, as well as the presence of North American companies in Peru due to their relevance for the country's economic reactivation.
