Peru: PM hopes work intensity will redouble to approve reforms

14:08 | Lima, Jul. 15.

Peruvian Prime Minister Salvador del Solar on Monday affirmed he hopes Congress' work intensity will be redoubled in order to finish the current legislative term approving the six political reform bills submitted by the Executive Branch.

In this sense, the high-ranking official noted the efforts undertaken by the Constitution Commission with the purpose of moving forward the initiatives presented in the confidence motion.

However, the cabinet chief indicated there is not much time left, and thus he urged lawmakers to redouble efforts.

"I do not think the political reform is being rushed. There are technical teams working all the time. It is a technical and careful work that will reach the plenary session," Del Solar expressed.
