The Brazilian construction corporation Odebrecht has begun to deliver key information —on the illegal payments it made in Peru to win public-work contracts— to the Public Ministry's Lava Jato Case Special Prosecution Group.
The delivery will continue today, the above-mentioned media outlet reported.
Likewise, La Republica newspaper pointed out Odebrecht's attorneys Ricardo Weil and Lourdes Carreño were the ones in charge of delivering that information.
Collaboration agreement
As is known, the Brazilian construction giant admitted to having paid millions in bribes to government officials in Peru, in order to secure public-works contracts.
Therefore,
Odebrecht benefited from over US$143 million between 2005 and 2014 in Peru, according to the U.S. Justice Department.
