A total of 28 professionals —among doctors, nurses, biologists, and obstetricians— hired by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) left on Monday for the eastern Ucayali Region to reinforce the care of COVID-19 patients in the region, which records 4,268 cases to date. Thus, a field hospital will be installed in the area.
Zamora highlighted the efforts made by the country to face the pandemic and said that —thanks to the support of these professionals— the epidemic will be tackled.
"This will alleviate the impact of the epidemic in the area," he expressed.
"We are also bringing in specialized personnel because the goal is for all ventilators in Ucayali Region to be operational and have what it takes to serve the population," she said.
Montenegro also indicated that she will coordinate with Ucayali Region Government for the creation of two oxygen plants, which will be added to the two existing ones that work three shifts. This way, the Government will seek to cover the deficit of this vital input.
