According to the Head of State, his administration has given and will continue giving an expectant place to the mining sector, which takes advantage of the subsoil's wealth in order to generate benefits for the population.

"Mining (activities) will generate a positive impact of over US$17 billion in the upcoming years, and the benefits will be registered in the manufacturing, construction, and agricultural sectors, with a high employment rate of nearly 100,000 direct jobs," he expressed.

Likewise, the top official recalled the General Mining Law led to boosting the sector, so it could enter and compete in international markets.

"As the Prime Minister (Salvador del Solar) has announced, in the upcoming days, we will publish the supreme resolution to create a high-level commission aimed at improving mining activities' regulations," he added.

Furthermore, President Vizcarra underlined the mining industry represents a development opportunity that must be seized within the framework of a social and environmental commitment, which must be based on the creation of a good mining practices center.
