Peru Foreign Affairs Min to visit China

The Peruvian Government on Wednesday authorized Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio's trip to China, where he will meet with Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

According to Supreme Resolution 156-2018-PCM —published in El Peruano official gazette— the visit will take place on August 26-28. 

The official visit will serve to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Peru and China in political, economic, trade, financial, and cultural fields. 

Within this framework, the 10th Meeting of the Political Consultations Mechanism and the 3rd Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue Mechanism for Economic Cooperation will take place. Both meetings are considered high priority by the Inca country. 

During Minister Popolizio's absence, Economy and Finance Minister Carlos Oliva will take over the Foreign Affairs portfolio.

The trip was authorized by Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra and Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva.
