Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to Martin Vizcarra on Thursday to congratulate him on his inauguration as Peru's top leader.
In his message, Xi noted his country has maintained deep, long-standing relations and close high-level exchanges with Peru, adding that the bilateral cooperation has yielded good results in all aspects.
According to Xinhua news agency, Xi said he places great importance on the development of
China-Peru relations and is willing to work with Vizcarra to keep the stability of the countries' comprehensive strategic partnership.
In fact, he intends to carry it [the partnership] further in order to benefit both nations.
He replaces Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, who
resigned amid a political crisis triggered by the release of clandestine videos of his allies allegedly attempting to buy votes ahead of an impeachment vote.
