Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Mario Lopez on Thursday participated in the 10th meeting of the Ministerial Coordination Group on COVID-19 (MCGC).

It is an initiative led by Canada that promotes international cooperation and the exchange of experiences to face the pandemic.

The high-ranking official shared Peru's progress on the matter and highlighted that access to the vaccine, as well as treatments against COVID-19 denote a national goal.

Likewise, the Cabinet member reiterated the importance of recognizing them as a global public good, thus ensuring their fair and equitable distribution.

The ministerial group is made up of Canada, Australia, Germany, Brazil, France, Italy, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Peru.
