Peru: Executive Branch strengthens support for vulnerable people

11:37 | Belen (Loreto region), Mar. 1.

Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva has presented the Development and Social Inclusion Ministry's (Midis) program aimed at bringing the Peruvian Government's social initiatives to the population in order to promote development and reduce poverty.

The execution of "Midis in your neighborhood" —working together with Belen Municipality— will enable the reduction of socio-economic information gaps, as well as the necessary certification for locals to access social loans.

On the other hand, the official noted the efforts undertaken by diverse Government officials and institutions.

Likewise, the cabinet chief mentioned Belen has been declared in a state of emergency and urged Mayor Gerson Lecca to not spare any expenses when it comes to reinforcing the riverside defenses.

"We are taking precautions in every location," he expressed in this sense.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Villanueva highlighted the virtues of President Martin Vizcarra's administration concerning dialogue and understanding.

On the occasion, he was joined by Ministers Liliana La Rosa (Development and Social Inclusion), Raul Perez-Reyes (Production), and Jose Huerta (Defense).

They also participated in the sailing of the National Program's First Campaign of "Action Platforms for Social Inclusion – PAIS 2019."
