Peru's Economically Active Population (EAP) accounted for 62% of total citizens surveyed in October 2017, a 5% increase from the 2007 census, National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported Monday.
In Peru, EAP includes people aged 14 and above, who —during the reference period— were working (employed) or actively seeking jobs (unemployed), according to a definition by the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).
INEI also forecasted the young population of working age will be able to join the
labor market relying on better employment opportunities through greater training and job training incentives.
