Peru on Wednesday delivered the initial memorandum to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which marks a milestone in our country's process of accession to said body.

"This important step reflects the political decision of President Dina Boluarte, who leads this historic process. The incorporation of our country into the international mechanism will allow Peru to enter the major leagues of economy and administrative governance," the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) reported via its official Twitter account.

The meeting with the OECD representative was also attended by Peruvian Ministers Ana Cecilia Gervasi (Foreign Affairs) and Alex Contreras (Economy-Finance), who had worked during the first six months of Government with a view to starting the process of accession to this body.

The delivery of the initial memorandum took place in France, where Peruvian Government authorities recently arrived as part of a tour from June 3 to 8, which had begun in Spain.

The three high-ranking officials on Wednesday participated in the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting 2023 to also discuss the next steps in the process of Peruvian accession to this international mechanism.
