Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola and Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi held a meeting with the Chairwoman of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Meritxell Batet, in Madrid.

During the meeting, the Peruvian Executive Branch representatives conveyed greetings from President Dina Boluarte to the Spanish parliamentarian.

In turn, Batet highlighted the fact that both Spain and Peru share similar democratic principles and values.

In this sense, the parliamentarian pointed out that the agendas developed by both nations are based on concrete alliances and not on mere declarations.

Likewise, she said the European Union Presidency to be held by Spain will have among its priorities the strengthening of relations between said bloc and Latin American countries.

Second day

These meetings are part of their work agenda in the Iberian country since last Monday.

Later, both Peruvian government officials will travel to France.
