Peru confirms squad for friendlies against the Netherlands, Germany

The Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) on Friday announced its 24-man team for next month's friendly matches in Europe.

The red-white squad will play against the Netherlands on September 6 in Amsterdam. 

A few days later —on September 9— the national team will face Germany in Sinsheim, located about one hour from Frankfurt. 

On this occasion, the squad's top goal-scorer Paolo Guerrero was not called by coach Ricardo Gareca for the coming games.


Goalkeepers: Pedro Gallese (Veracruz-Mexico), Patricio Alvarez (Sporting Cristal-Peru), and Jose Carvallo (UTC-Peru).

Defenders: Luis Advincula (Rayo Vallecano-Spain), Johan Madrid (Sporting Cristal-Peru), Christian Ramos (Al Nassr-Saudi Arabia), Miguel Araujo (Talleres-Argentina), Anderson Santamaria (Puebla-Mexico), Luis Abram (Velez Sarsfield-Argentina), Miguel Trauco (Flamengo-Brazil), Nilson Loyola (Melgar-Peru), and Marcos Lopez (Sporting Cristal-Peru).

Midfielders: Pedro Aquino (Leon-Mexico), Wilder Cartagena (Veracruz-Mexico), Sergio Peña (Tondela-Portugal), Yoshimar Yotun (Orlando City-U.S.), Christian Cueva (Krasnodar-Russia), Horacio Calcaterra (Sporting Cristal-Peru), and André Carrillo (Al Hilal-Saudi Arabia).

Forwards: Andy Polo (Portland Timbers-U.S.), Edison Flores (Aalborg-Denmark), Jefferson Farfan (Lokomotiv-Russia), Raul Ruidiaz (Seattle Sounders-U.S.), and Ray Sandoval (Monarcas Morelia-Mexico).

As is known, Peru holds 20th position in the latest World Ranking published Thursday by Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
