Tons of fans welcome Peru's Paolo Guerrero in Porto Alegre

11:47 | Porto Alegre (Brazil), Aug. 15.

A throng of Brazilian Internacional's fans on Wednesday welcomed Peruvian soccer striker Paolo Guerrero —the club's star signing for this season.

Upon arrival, Peru's all-time leading scorer received the affection, ovation, and fondness from the Porto Alegre side's supporters.

Peruvian nationals were among the euphoric crowd dressed in traditional red-and-white clothing.

"I am very proud to play wearing this jersey," he expressed.

On Sunday, Sport Club Internacional confirmed the signing of the Peruvian striker for the next three seasons, after his contract with Flamengo expired on Friday.

The Peru captain has signed a three-year deal that ends in August 2021.

Thus, Guerrero —who reached Russia 2018 World Cup with Peru's national team— leaves Flamengo for Campeonato Brasileiro rivals Internacional.

The 34-year-old joined Flamengo from Corinthians in 2015.

Previously, he defended German teams Bayern Munich and Hamburg SV.
