Peru, Bolivia Presidents get together for 1st Binational Cabinet in Puno

Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales arrived in Puno, Peru to hold a presidential meeting and chair the first ministerial meeting to discuss issues facing border regions.

The two Heads of State and their Ministerial Cabinets sang their respective national anthems before the meeting.

Afterwards, Peru’s Ministerial Cabinet greeted Mr. Morales. Bolivians ministers did the same with President Humala.

Both President Humala and Cabinet-led Cabinet were wearing ponchos (traditional attires).

Later, the two presidents were gathered in a private meeting.

The First Binational Cabinet is intended to address four thematic axes: Environment and Human Resources; Security and Defense; Economic Development, Social Affairs and Institutional Strengthening and; Infrastructure for Integration and Development.

Both dignitaries are expected to sign a joint document that will summarize the results of the meeting. There will be an official photo and a press conference after that.
