Peru's government revenues from hydrocarbon production (gas and oil) during the January-September 2025 period amounted to US$829.5 million, reflecting the sector's importance to the country's economy.
Of this total, US$423.34 million originated from natural gas production, US$245.53 million from natural gas liquids, and US$160.71 million from oil production in Peru.
Royalties are the economic compensation established by law, through which companies are obliged to pay the Peruvian State for the right to exploit the country's hydrocarbon resources (oil and gas).
Royalties are calculated based on production value, according to the royalty percentage established for each contract.
In 2024, government revenues from hydrocarbon production amounted to US$1.197 billion. From 1993 to July 2025, these revenues totaled US$27.127 billion.
