will join the Peruvian delegation participating in the Peruvian Mining Mission in Australia.
Velarde's presence follows an invitation extended by Australia's Ambassador to Peru, Maree Ringland, and APCCI President, Carlos Castro, during a ceremony in which the BCR governor was honored for his outstanding tenure leading the issuing entity.
The diplomat highlighted that Velarde "is a key figure for Peru's economic institutions and an example for the international community," emphasizing his sustained leadership since October 2006.
Peru's mining potential
As part of IMARC 2025, Peru will feature a special session called "Peru Time." It is a four-hour segment of strategic presentations by public and private representatives, showcasing the South American country's mining potential and investment opportunities.
The Peru stand will be located inside Sydney's International Convention Centre, where international investors will be able to explore a mining projects portfolio exceeding US$60 billion.
APCCI President Carlos Castro emphasized that Peru arrives in Australia with "a strong delegation ready to showcase high-impact projects under world-class ESG (environmental, social, and governance) standards."
Agenda of activities
The official agenda of the Peruvian delegation includes participation in investment forums, bilateral meetings with global authorities, visits to aerospace mining innovation centers, and a special session at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), considered the main financing hub for international mining projects.
IMARC 2025 will bring together over 10,500 participants from 120 countries, including institutional investors, executives from major mining companies, technology manufacturers, multilateral organizations, and government representatives.
Within this framework, Peru will present itself as a key player in the future of global mining, offering a competitive portfolio based on sustainability, innovation, and macroeconomic stability.
