Peru beats Costa Rica (1-0)

Peru's national soccer team on Wednesday night defeated its Costa Rican counterpart in its penultimate friendly match before participating in the Copa America Brasil 2019 tournament this month.

The first half ended with the score tied to zero goals.

In the 54th minute, Christian Cueva scored the only goal for the Inca squad coached by Ricardo Gareca.

Peru's top striker Paolo Guerrero entered the field at the beginning of the second half. Thus, it was the first game defending his country after having returned from a long suspension.
