Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero's return to his national team will be the highlight of the Wednesday friendly match between the Incas and Costa Rica, as part of their preparation for the Copa America and the Gold Cup, respectively.

The match will take place at the Monumental Stadium in Lima's Ate district on June 5 with a kick-off at 8:30 PM (local time).

A second friendly —scheduled for Sunday, June 9, at 4:00 PM— will be against Colombia at the same venue.

The Incas have lost eight games since the 2018 World Cup, one of them against Costa Rica. Said match took place seven months ago in the Peruvian city of Arequipa.

"This return to the national team is a very emotional moment for me. I'm excited about playing a good Copa America," he said upon arrival at Lima-based Jorge Chavez International Airport.

On June 12, Gareca's men will leave for Porto Alegre to prepare for their debut at said continental tournament.
