Peru's Central Reserve Bank (BCR)
despite the third quarter's slowdown, BCR Governor Julio Velarde has affirmed.
"The economic growth registered in
September (2.1%) is low, but this rate does not change the growth forecasts since they have remained within the expectations," Velarde expressed.
In this sense, he indicated BCR projects a significant economic recovery during the fourth quarter (over 4%), which would make up for the lower increase recorded between July and September 2018.
"
Public investment slid in September, but it expanded strongly in October. That will boost
construction, some non-primary sectors, and demand, among others," the official expressed.
"Furthermore, the
fishery (season) starts strongly, and its momentum will last until January," he added.
Private sector
Within this framework, Velarde stressed countries grow by listening to the private sector.
However, this does not mean the Government has to accept all the demands, just be willing to talk, he concluded.
