The
Attorney General's Office and agents from the
Peruvian National Police's High Complexity Investigations Division (Diviac) raided the house of former Prime Minister Anibal Torres, several media outlets have reported.
According to the media, Public Ministry and Police officials quickly entered the house located in Lima's San Isidro district.
Likewise, it was confirmed that information on his alleged participation in the coup d'etat is being gathered.
As is known, the Permanent Chamber of the Supreme Court has banned Torres from leaving the country for 18 months. Therefore, he must comply with a series of rules of conduct.
In addition, it was reported that the former Ministerial Cabinet chief was in his home during the raid.
A few hours after the operation began, the Public Ministry reported that the Second Transitory Supreme Prosecutor's Office Specialized in Crimes committed by Public Officials raided the property, seizing goods and documents.
Said office reported that the raid was conducted on the basis of the corresponding court order and comes under the preparatory investigation opened for the crime of rebellion and alternative conspiracy against the ex-Prime Minister.
