announced on Friday that the credentials for the presidential ticket that won the 2026 General Elections will be awarded at the Lima-based Grand National Theater on Wednesday, July 15.
"At this point, we can say with complete certainty that the official proclamation of the final second-round results will be completed no later than July 3," he told reporters.
The JNE head noted that the 60 Special Electoral Boards are finalizing the decentralized proclamation of results in all electoral constituencies nationwide.
Burneo said the credential ceremony will be held on July 15 at the Grand National Theater in Lima's San Borja district, starting at noon.
"As we did with the senators and deputies, we will officially proclaim the results on July 3. Then, we will hold the official credential ceremony, which is scheduled for July 15 at noon at the Grand National Theater," he noted.
Lastly, the chairman called for respect for the JNE's institutional role and expressed hope that there will be a balance of powers during the upcoming five-year term.
