Peru is one of the countries that signed the most contracts for the purchase of 60 million COVID-19 vaccines in Latin America. In fact, it has received more than 6.7 million doses so far to help save lives.

Ministers Oscar Ugarte (Health) and Eduardo Gonzalez (Transport and Communications) supervised the arrival of this cargo at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima on Thursday evening.

On the occasion, the government officials were joined by Pfizer representatives.

The doses, which arrived on Peruvian soil, were sent by the COVAX alliance (468,000) and by Pfizer/BioNTech itself (250,380).
