Peru's President Francisco Sagasti on Thursday affirmed that the arrival of further COVID-19 vaccine doses allows immunization progress in regions throughout the country.

Minutes before leaving for Cusco, the Head of State reported that he will deliver a total of 17,550 vaccine doses from the Pfizer laboratory in said region today.

"The joint work, the logistics, as well as trust and hope, encourage us to move forward," he said.

Peru's top official stated that the vaccination program in Cusco will be monitored and that his trip will include a visit to the town of Paucartambo, where the working group in charge of the maintenance of Manu Forest will be launched.

Afterwards, he will meet with Cusco Governor and local authorities.

"We continue working," Mr. Sagasti remarked.
