Over 40 Venezuelans deported from Peru

Interior Minister Carlos Moran has supervised the fifth deportation process of 45 Venezuelan citizens with criminal records in Peru.


In total, 36 men and 9 women were detained by the Police in Lima and Callao, within the framework of 2019 Safe Migration Plan. 

"So far this month, we have intervened 890 Venezuelans who entered the country in an irregular manner," Moran stated on Wednesday afternoon.


"They and the 45 individuals of today total nearly 1,000 offenders, who have been deported and banned from entering the country for 15 years," he added.

The minister also took the opportunity to call on foreigners with criminal records to leave Peruvian territory before being arrested and expelled.

On the occasion, Minister Moran was joined by National Police Commander-General Jose Luis Lavalle, Criminal Investigation (Dirnic) Director Neyre Rodriguez, as well as officials of the National Superintendence of Migrations.
