Online video reviews and tutorials are the options most used by brands to connect with their Peruvian consumers and generate sales, said Marcos Aramburu —Google Research Manager in Argentina, Chile and Peru.

"To connect with the audience, it is necessary to create interesting content (…). Peruvians like to watch videos to learn or entertain themselves, videos of reviews and tutorials for products and brands are a good option to encourage the purchase," Aramburu told Andina news agency.

"The recommendations and the number of likes in these types of videos help a lot," he added.

During the presentation of a recent Ipsos study on consumption for Google, Aramburu said that 64% of Internet users in the South American country have bought a product influenced by YouTube.

The figure shows that the popular video platform manages to connect brands with their audiences and plays a significant role among national consumers.

The study called "Emotional link of Peruvians with YouTube 2019" reveals that 88% of Internet users could decide on a brand or product to buy thanks to the platform.

In addition, the following point is relevant during the pre-purchase research process: 52% have searched for a product or brand on Google and then watched a video on YouTube before buying it.

The scope, the multi-screen option, and the diversity of content generate connection with users —even to consider new purchase options. Thus, 58% of Peruvian Internet users affirm to have discovered new brands or products through YouTube.

YouTube has become a funnel solution, since it creates a connection with the most valuable audience.
