The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that seven Peruvians who had traveled to Russia intending to serve in foreign armed forces have returned to their country of origin thanks to the assistance and protection provided by the Embassy in Moscow.

They had received assistance and protection from Peru's Embassy and consular section in Moscow.

The Ministry emphasized that, so far and since early April, 25 Peruvians have returned to their country of origin and are now reunited with their families.

The release emphasized that, for the safety and protection of the compatriots involved, it is not possible to share details regarding their returns.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues working on the remaining cases reported by relatives of Peruvians who are believed to be serving in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as on a few others who have not yet been enlisted," the document concluded.
