The "Lima Roadmap Forum: Technology and Innovation to Promote a Transition to Economic Formality" was held recently at the College of Engineers of Lima.
The initiative aims to provide concrete solutions so that millions of Peruvians have greater opportunities for inclusion, access to credit, and security in their productive activities.
This event included the participation of Peru's Senior Official to APEC from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Renato Reyes.
The diplomat underscored that the Lima Roadmap is a valuable contribution of Peru's foreign policy to the Asia-Pacific region, promoting the transition of informal economic actors toward formality and their integration into the global economy.
During the inauguration, Ambassador Reyes was accompanied by College of Engineers of Peru's Lima Council Dean Edwin Chavarri; Northern Regional Manager and Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) Representative in Peru, Santiago Rojas; Peru SV Director Emilia Paz; and Peru's Alternate Senior Official to APEC, Minister Victor Muñoz, who delivered the forum's closing remarks.
In his remarks, Ambassador Reyes highlighted the importance of promoting digital financial inclusion strategies that enable small business owners, merchants, and self-employed workers to access modern and secure tools, facilitating the growth of their businesses and improving families' quality of life.
The event presented four thematic panels focused on the use of technology and innovation for economic formalization.
It featured Deputy Women and Vulnerable Populations Minister Ana Sofia Rodriguez; Deputy Labor Minister Yolanda Erazo; and Deputy MSMEs and Industry Minister Cesar Quispe.
Through this initiative, Peru reaffirms its commitment to working alongside regional partners and international stakeholders to develop public policies that provide greater opportunities for development and well-being for Peruvian families.
