A new batch of 395,000 vaccines from Pfizer pharmaceutical company landed at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport on Thursday night.

The cargo was brought from Amsterdam (the Netherlands) onboard KLM flight 743. Thus, the 790,000 doses destined for this week are completed.

Culture Minister Alejandro Neyra was in charge of receiving the latest doses. On this occasion,
the Cabinet member highlighted the efforts undertaken by the Transition and Emergency Government for the immunization against COVID-19.

"Once the month of May ends, we will have received, as a whole, more than 4,600,000 vaccine doses," Neyra said in remarks to TVPeru.

"In the month of June, a little more than 4,700,000 (vaccines) will arrive. That will help us continue with the immunization process, which is being successfully carried out at the national level," he added.
