12th Peru-Ecuador Binational Cabinet takes place today

Presidents Martin Vizcarra (Peru) and Lenin Moreno (Ecuador) will today lead the 12th Binational Cabinet.

It must be noted Binational Cabinets constitute a mechanism for political dialogue to be held between two nations with the purpose of working on specific issues of common concern included in the bilateral agenda.  

During the coming gathering, Peruvian and Ecuadorian authorities will address subjects concerning the social, cultural, economic, environmental, energy, mining, infrastructural, connectivity, and security spheres.



Within this framework, he said Peru and Ecuador share the same history, as well as a common goal aimed at working towards both nations' progress and development.

Furthermore, the Peruvian top official's visit coincided with the anniversary of the 1998 Brasilia Agreement, a peace treaty signed between the two nations.

On the occasion, the statesman was awarded the National Order of Merit in the rank of Grand Collar. Plus, he was granted the keys to Quito and declared an Illustrious Guest.

He also met with other officials from the neighboring country.
