Susan Sarandon visits Sacsayhuaman fortress, Chinchero weavers in Cusco

Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon, who is visiting the Andean region of Cusco in southeastern Peru, on Saturday toured the Sacsayhuaman Fortress accompanied by TV hostess Veronica Ayllon.

After the visit, Sarandon said she was impressed by the majesty of the Inca building.

According to elcomercio.pe, Sarandon was surprised by our agricultural diversity, especially by the different kinds of Peruvian potatoes.

In the afternoon, Peru's Trade and Tourism Minister Martin Perez and his wife held a private lunch with Sarandon and Veronica Ayllon. Witnesses said the Hollywood actress had guinea pig, sweet corn and trout and was delighted with the food.

After the lunch, Susan Sarandon attended an exhibition of Peruvian Paso horses and then visited Chinchero to meet the local women weavers.

Susan Sarandon has worked in films and television since 1969, and won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the 1995 film Dead Man Walking.
