Peruvian President Alan Garcia Perez on Friday received credentials of new ambassadors of Switzerland, Belgium, Colombia, Panama and China during a series of ceremonies held at Lima’s Government Palace.

At 09:00 am (14:00 GMT), the Peruvian leader received credentials of Swiss Ambassador Anne-Pascale Krauer Muller.

The representative of the Swiss Confederation was born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1958 and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Lausanne University.

Before arriving in Peru, Krauer Muller served as Minister of Embassy of Switzerland in London.

Thirty minutes later, new Belgian Ambassador to Peru, Beatriz Van Hemeldonck, presented her credentials to the Head of State.

The new ambassador of Belgium was born in Brussels in 1952, she has a Master in Political and Diplomatic Science and International Law and has postgraduate studies in Economics and European Law.

Between 2002 and 2006, Van Hemeldonck served as Belgian ambassador to Ecuador, and between 2006 and 2009 she served as special adviser in the Ministry of Cooperation of her country.

At 10:00 am, Panamanian Ambassador Carlos Luis Linares Brin also presented his credential letters to President Garcia.

The new ambassador to Panama is an electronic engineer and has a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Between 1994 and 2003 he served as ambassador to Panama in Peru. He is married to Peruvian Rosa Elvira Clarke, and his sister is Panama's first lady, Marta Linares Brin.

Half an hour later, the Peruvian leader received credentials of Colombian Ambassador María Claudia Mosquera Jaramillo.

Mosquera Jaramillo is a lawyer from the University of San Buenaventura of Cali, a specialist in Administrative Law from the Universidad del Cauca and in Notarial Law and Register from the University Externado of Colombia.

Finally, Chinese Ambassador Zhao Wuyi, former Chinese Ambassador in Bolivia, met with President Garcia at 11 am to submit his credentials.
