Over 5,600 tourists from all over the world will visit the Historic Center of Lima in February and March. Visitors will arrive in the port of Callao aboard the giant cruise ships Queen Mary II and Carnival Splendor, reported today Lima’s municipality.

Maria Fung, tourism assistant manager of Lima’s municipality, reported that the Queen Mary II ocean liner (2620 passengers) will arrive in Peruvian waters on February 3, while Carnival Splendor (3000 passengers) is scheduled to arrive on March 8 this year.

Carnival Splendo, a brand new ship of Carnival Cruises, is the largest passenger ship to arrive in Peru.

Fung highlighted the important role of tourism companies that include the Historic Center of Lima in their tourism programs. This is becoming more evident with the arrival of ocean liners to Callao's port,  allowing thousands of tourists to have the opportunity of visiting Lima's downtown.
