Those who visit Chavín de Huantar town - located in Ancash and neighbor of Chavín de Huantar ruins - will find that the people from this place are busy on Friday18. It is not about the bullfights that will be carried out that day in honor of Carmen virgin, the interest has a motivation linked to culture: the next inauguration of a museum in the district.

Christian Mejía Montenegro, in charge of the project of the National Institute of Culture (INC), commented that it will not be just a museum devoted to Chavín de Huantar.

Though the former museum of this place, located in the archaeological site, which counted on just one room, will stop working when the doors of the new one are opened, the brand-new museum is not a simple replacement.

The archaeologist explains that this will be a museum that will count on the national character and will be linked to the formative period.
